Looking For Wedding Shower Themes and Decorations?
Attention bridesmaids, this one is for you! The bride has asked you to be a special part of her day and now it is time for you to shower her with love.
Decorating for a wedding shower doesn’t have to match the bride’s wedding theme, in fact, you should steer clear of that as it is her special day and you don’t want to take anything away from the wedding. But you might want to come up with a theme of your own, it can be a color or seasonal; it can match the colors in the house or restaurant in which you are hosting the event, or it can be a kitchen theme, lingerie theme or both!
Since a bridal shower is traditionally for just women, you could have high tea with finger sandwiches and scones or serve a lovely brunch with eggs Benedict and mimosas. If you bride has a favorite fare, consider making that the theme of your shower, be it Mexican, Italian, Japanese, or whatever. Including some of her favorite things will be a sure way to show her how much you care. If you are going to be having the shower at a home, be sure to have plastic wear, dishes, cups and napkins and enough for any appetizers, hot food, and cake.
During the gift opening time, have your bride sit on a special chair. Some venues may have something different from the regular table chairs, but if you are hosting in someone’s home, decorate the chair with ribbons and bows, making her a special throne.
A shower is a great place to use balloons rather than flowers. Depending on how many girls will be paying for the cost of the shower, balloons are an inexpensive and appropriate alternative. They can match the colors of the room, or if the room is neutral can be a hint of your bridesmaid dresses.
Last but not least, have a game or two in your back pocket. Sometimes the chatter takes over and you don’t need them, but a little “Bridal Shower Bingo” never hurt anyone!
