I am baking a cake for sunday, that will be stacked on top of each other what prevents it from falling apart?
Its like a wedding cake
its 9 inch on bottom, seven inch in the middle and 6 inch
i was wondering what i can do to prevent it from falling apart because i am making it on friday and the wedding is on sunday.
how do i also stack a cake on top of each other?

Oh gosh, you’re making a wedding cake and dont know what keeps the layers together? You might want to call a bakery now!
First of all, cook the layers. Take the first layer and put it on your cake board, upsidedown. (are you going to split the cake and put filling inside?) do that first if you are, and I recommend it for a wedding cake. Lots of filling…anyway, try to level off the second layer so theres not a huge hump on it. Put a huge whallop of icing in the middle of the first base layer, and add the second layer, upside down. Same with the last. Cover it with lots of icing, without your knife ever touching the cake (just the frosting…otherwise you’ll get crumbs). To decorate, whats really pretty and easy is to put your knife on the frosting and pull out, then sprinkle clear white sugar and coconut mixture all over. It will sparkle, and it doesnt have to be smooth or anything. If you’re attempting fondant, cover the layers first before assembling. I’d do a lot of reading and research, as much as you can before attempting that cake. You may want to put a wooden dowel or 2 in it before icing it, so it stays all together and less likely to fall…especially if its an outside wedding….Good luck and if you need any more advice, email me!
