College Football
Who else thinks college football is bogus simply because of the playoff format?
I love highschool football and the NFL. But I can’t get into college ball. It’s pointless. If your team isn’t Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, MAYBE Boise State, you will never get a shot at the big dance. A friggin’ computer system decides who will get to play for a National championship. You can finish undefeated and it does not mean a darn thing.
Therefore, college football will never get a dime of my money until they change it. The system is stupid.
I’ll still follow college football regardless but I dont like the system either. Don’t give up on it though. Think about this. The BCS isn’t perfect but its still better than what we used to have. Under the old system all the Conference winners from last year would have been locked into certain bowls. Bama would have gone to the Sugar, Texas to the Cotton. TCU and Boise would probably have gone to seperate minor bowls so the BCS was a step to at least bring number one and two together. Hopefully it wont stop there.
This is my solution. Take the 6 Major Conference winners say Bama, Texas, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Ohio State & Oregon plus 2 at large teams say Boise and TCU and use the Sugar, Rose, Orange and Cotton as your sites for the playoff games. You can still keep all the other bowls plus the major bowls. Just use them as playoff sites.
