Engraved Wedding Guest
Giving a wedding necessity as a Christmas gift…thoughts?
I have a good friend who is going to be getting married sometime in March. Like many brides, she is stressed about the planning and would like to keep things simple and the costs down. She’s been asking me about what she needs to prep for the wedding and I know that, if she’s like me, she’ll not worry about the little things like having toasting glasses, a cake server and a guest book (these are things I didn’t worry as much about for my wedding).
So I was wondering if it would be lame for me to give her cake server utensils (nice ones, with a gift certificate so she can get them engraved with the actual date when it’s set) or a guest book and pen for her. Do you think she would appreciate a Christmas gift like this (albiet small, like 50 dollars worth) in preparation for the wedding? Or is this kind of a rude or lame gift/gesture?
I personally wouldn’t like it, but maybe that’s because I am the type of person to pay attention to those things. But why don’t you try hinting around, say “OH i saw these loving serving utensils and I thought of you.. are you doing those things for your wedding??” same with the guest book. The secret to great gift giving is sneaking around until you find a good gift idea from them lol
