Eyeing That Fashion Trendy & Comfortable
“This is the first time I am doing something in eye wear because I think people don’t have that much of option as far as eye wear’s concerned. Eye wear today is being used as a personal style statement. People are looking at frames that are trendy and comfortable, that fit their overall lifestyle”, said Kunal. The designer eye wear offers a wide range of stylish frames with the latest international fashion trends. Each stylish frame has single pieces with unfinished looks like for ex vintage, biker, second hand etc. The highpoint of the collection is the mixture of elements accompanied with amazing usage of colours like the rim is in gold and plastic in dull brown or silver. With its hint of colours, unique detailing and comfort quotient, Kunal embodies the spirit of today’s casual corporate style. Available in 30 styles, Kunal emphasizes on the fact that it’s not easy to find the shapes he desired, mostly inspired from the era of 60s, 70s and 80s. “The world of eye wear is all about interesting shapes, unique lines and conversation-piece style frames. Eyeglasses are all about exaggerated rectangles, pointy edges, big frames, aviators, different shades, many more”, he summarized. The price range of this collection is in Rs. 5000 to 8000 and is available exclusively at the designer’s workshop in Mumbai. Designer duo Hemant and Nandita are back in news with their Autumn Winter 09 collection. Enlightening us about the concept and theme that holds the collection together, Nandita explained, “Since recession is the most fashionable word pronounced these days and is mostly expressed by hues like blacks and greys, my collection aims at conveying the message that even in this down fall, there are lots of colours that will be in fashion.” Aptly named as ‘My Recession Shiny Black’, the collection is a mix of realism and dreaminess, and the clothes have sober embroidery which has been finished with a shiny wine colour. On this she added, “Though black is the colour of recession, people can’t get enough of bling, so the black shiny and shimmering embroidery done on the outfits projects the positive aspect of the slump.” The ensemble comprises two lines– Western prêt and Indo-Western Fusion. While the former targets young girls who believe that recession can’t affect their style statement, the latter traces back to the good old school days and emphasizes on comfortable, yet dressy and modern clothes. Semi-fitted dresses of varied lengths, with lots of pleats, button placket, tie-ups, belts and pockets make for the Western prêt line. Shading and ombre dying also finds a place in the creation. “The use of soft silk in the hues of black, white, greens and pinks is beautiful and portrays the hope people have in their minds,” she concluded. The fusion line comprises straight fits and slightly formal dresses with kimono sleeves, double breasted jackets, tunics with broad and cowl collars. Adding the fun element to the collection are the embellished pockets, velvet appliques, piping and pleats, done up with exciting patch work, and thread embroidery that accentuates on button placket. The use of stretch shiny linen in cyclone blue, grey, black and blended with a mix of fuchsia and maroon makes the collection stand apart.
