Can I bake a cake in a glass pie pan?
I have cake pans, but i wanted to try something different. Is it possible, or shall i say probable, to successfully bake a multi-layered cake by baking the layers in 9 1/2 in. glass pie pans?
I do it all the time!
cut oven temp by 25 degrees for the glass, it cooks faster at lower temp than the metal pans.
Pie pans are sloped on the sides so this won’t stack straight, remember that.
same amount of batter to the pie plates as you would do in straight sided cake pans of the same diameter.
