Heart Measuring Spoons
help with white sauce?
i’m making a white sauce however I don’t have scales to measure. The milk and butter part I should be ok with but I need to use 20g of flour. Can anyone tell me how many dessert spoons this would be? I’m making the Delia Smith one and when my friend does it she just shoves everything in and it works perfectly. I’m going to add cheese and make macaroni cheese. Hope you can help as have my heart set on having this tonight and am so hungry!!

so, you first want to make a roux. thats the flour and butter together, melted, right?! you don’t really need a recipe per se. I’ve always thought that people are much smarter than any ol piece of paper anyways(unless your baking, then thats a different story). so, melt the butter you already have measured out, and slowly stir in the flour until its as thick as oh i don’t know heavy maple syrup. Then you want to continue stirring until the mixture has a nice nutty smell, it will brown a little(to cook out the yucky flour taste). then, very slowly, whisk in the milk, and once the mixture boils(keep stirring all the time), you should be good. also, it will thicken up when you add the cheese. it should be like alfredo sauce-type consistency. and it will get a lot thicker when it cools too. also, keep in mind that an ounce is 28 grams,so you need about3/4 of an ounce there
