I wanna start taking my dress designs to be made and i need help with fabric choices?
i havent taken a fashion design class but i have been sketvhing since i was little. i need help with fabric selection. this one particular dress i wanna have done has a deep v that needs to stay up. what would be the best fabric for that?? and to attach lace to??
Take that sketch to your patternmaker and ask. Personally, I’d probably bone such a neckline, which will require lining and underlining.
The choice of fabric conditions the choice of pattern, and vice-versa. They have to work together.
The other problem you’re going to run into is that many drawings simply can’t be made up at all (fabric doesn’t move or hang like many Manga drawings, for instance), nor can it be made without seams.
