So I was looking for a first line to begin my story with and thats what Im using :
The powerful scent of ____ was overpowering.
It’s a fiction story.
Maybe with aliens..or robots ? Or even wizards.
I havent thought of that yet
So what do you guys think it should be ?
“The scent of LAVENDER was overpowering” ?? I dont think so.
cuz .. well idk
To make it clear , my question is : What word should I use where I put the ” _______ ”

i read the first line: the powerful scent and i thought HMM lavendar, and youve bloody written that!
why not go for india :
the potent scent of indian insense was much too overpowering, numbing ____’s senses.
something like that?
maybe introduce a character you can’t imagine even being in india, and not fitting into the constrictions of the story?
for instance, if you did a fairy story, dont focus it on the prince/princess or peasent/hero.
