Mini Gumball Machines
help on materials for gumball machine?
for school we’re making and selling products but we’re not doing the gumball machine with flowerpots that you just take off the lid to get candy. Where can you get a base for it fairly small but cheap, also where can you get cheap plastic bowls/domes (small) for the top and where can you get a tube to transport the gumball inside(also small enough for mini gumball We need cheap materials to make profit and we’re making over 20 so nothing expensive. Any help?
hmm. You know, you can also get those things for free. Like the base can be made of cardboard, however it depends on what u want the bowl to be, so it shouldn’t be that heavy. A plastic dome is perfect and i think cardboard will be able to support it. Or you can just by long containers that you can find at 99 cent stores and make it up a bit to make it look less like a container. You can paper mache it and then paint any color you like over it.
So when I automatically think of a gumball machine bowl, i think of a fish bowl. However, that would be too expensive. So you can try looking in 99 cent stores for containers that are round. And you know, if your school lets you, then you dont have to make it round. It can be more…pentagonish. That’ll give a new twist to your machine. Umm, the tubes can also be used from paper towel rolls, or you can go to a hardware store and find plastic-like tubes that you can actually flex and create a spiral like shape. I’m not sure how much those may cost though. OH! the tube can also be a gardening hose…but its expensive…maybe you can find it in the garbage??
