Perfect Window and Wall Décor for Those Who Rent
Just image! You believe that you have finally found that dream apartment that is in your price range, in a convenient location, and has the amenities that you have been looking for! You walk in the front door excited to look at the place that you feel certain you will be calling home. You KNOW this is the ONE!
When you open the door, the plain white walls and bare windows have just given you flash blindness and you have to take a few moments to remember where you are at and find your sunglasses. The landlord proceeds to discuss all of the great amenities including the new white paint, since they don’t allow renters to paint the walls they went ahead and just painted them…because “everything goes with white.” You walk to the living room window and wonder how you didn’t notice the large public parking lot that is parked right outside. You think to yourself…”so much for my dream apartment!”
You walk to see the master bedroom convincing yourself that you can still make this work until you see that the master bedroom and bathroom have great windows that offer a spectacular view into the apartment building next door which is approximately 18 inches away! The landlord proceeds to tell you that they don’t allow tenants to put holes in the walls which not only squashes any hopes for putting some color on the walls but also kills any thoughts of mini blinds.
At this point you figure although you will be saving money because of the great price, the neighborhood will be watching TV with you through the living room window, you will have to wear sunglasses all the time, and will have to find a large piece of furniture to cover up the windows in the bedroom because a curtain just won’t get it done. So there you have it! For all of us who have rented before all hope is not lost.
You can still add class and style to your white walls and bare windows without breaking the bank and without getting kicked out by the landlord. Removable vinyl window and wall décor is the answer!
Adhesive-free vinyl window film is not like the cheap looking contact paper for windows that we used to see. These vinyl clings are high quality films that are designed to look like genuine stained glass, etched glass, and frosted glass. A true Do-It-Yourself project, this film applies with a spray bottle of water and a few drops of liquid soap, squeegee out the water and you are finished! You can easily trim with scissors or a utility knife so it can fit any size window or door.
The privacy designs not only offer privacy, but also security day and night so you don’t have to worry about sharing more than you want with the neighbors! The darker the film, the more privacy it adds. Privacy etched glass designs do not have any see-through elements to them, allows more light into the room, but may still allow outsiders to see shadows.
Decorative window film is perfect for renters because it is adhesive-free and removable without leaving any sticky glue on the windows. When you’re ready to move to a new place, peel a corner off, pull it off, reapply it to the original liner sheet and take it to your next residence to reuse on your windows and doors. For your kids, check out the Disney window film posters which work the exact same way and have the Princesses, Tinkerbell, Cars, and Hannah Montana to choose from.
As for those walls, tone down and dress them up! Removable vinyl wall decals and wall border are peel and stick appliqués and borders that don’t leave any sticky residue behind. The wall decals are precut, easy to apply, and easy to remove. The wall border works the same basic way. Simple peel, apply, smooth, trim, and you’re finished. Perfect for renters because they don’t leave any sticky residue behind and your landlord will love the fact that you didn’t need to put one hole in the wall and they won’t need to scrape wallpaper border off when you leave. The decals and border both pull off very easily. Reapply the decals to the original decal sheet and take them with you to your next home!
