personalized birthday banner writing baby’s name?
I like to do a personalized birthday banner for my baby’s ist birthday. I see on some online it seems a little expensive. Can anyone suggest me how can I do that and where I can get all the materials for making the banner. Where can I get the letters or any tips to make a nice birthday banner.
You don’t say what size, whether it’s indoor or outdoor etc… These decisions will make a big difference in what your options are. But–
Some ideas for you:
For a cheap indoor banner:
-If you want a banner no higher than 8.5″ you could print one out on your computer. That way you would need only to get a long roll of paper. Most photoshop and desktop publishing programs give you the option of custom paper sizes.
-OR you could print out letters separately and cut them out, that way you can make the banner as large as you want, the only limitation being the paper size that you print the letters or pictures on.
-OR you could go with cloth and put together a banner by purchasing a large piece of cloth for the background and printing out the lettering etc on t-shirt transfers. This would probably make an ok outdoor banner as well if you washed and heat set the material in the dryer according to the instructions on the package.
For outdoor:
Get some kind of vinyl material at a fabric store like JoAnne’s. They sell table cloth material for pretty cheap. You can buy stick on vinyl lettering at most hardware stores but be warned it will be pretty generic looking and kind of small.
To put up the banner in a professional way you might want to add a few grommets in the corners. Most sewing stores sell the grommets and a grommet setting tool.
Hands down the cheapest way (if you’re artistically inclined) would be to buy vinyl material and paint it.
However, if you want something really professional looking and don’t have artistic skills I would still suggest going with a printed banner from somewhere. Here’s a site that does a 2 x 4 color banner for $16.
