Rose Flower Heart
Have you ever heard of honey being made without bee’s? I inherited my grandmother’s cookbook?
I found this recipe, it was her mother’s making it over 100 years old. What do you think, does it sound like it would work?
12 pink roses
20 white clover flower buds
20 red clover flower buds
1 teaspoon alum
5 lbs. sugar (WOW)
2 1/2 cups boiling water
Petal all roses, taking hearts out. Add rose petals, clover buds, alum and sugar to the boiling water stirring constantly until it returns to boiling. Let boil 2 minutes. Strain into canning jars, seal and cool.
I haven’t tried it yet but I think it sounds pretty interesting. What do you think?

sounds interesting all-rite. i’d try it. I have made “scented” sugars before.What the heck, try it. you can probobly use it in place of “simple syrup” in bar drinks.and punches for the holidays, and may even make a nice Table syrup for pancakes, you never know!… What do you have to loose 2 dollars and fifty cents (the cost of a bag of sugar)
