Why is it that if someone doesn’t believe all the stupid lovey-dovey Hallmark crap, they’re considered cynical?
Seriously, some people don’t want big(or even small) Bridezilla weddings, generic red roses, leaving little notes around the house, poetry, endless cheap chocolates and cuddling(puke). It’s not because we’re unromantic, there are just more sincere ways of showing romance and how much you love someone.

Oh, my God, baby! Be mine!
I so hear you! When I had a wedding (before my divorce Ha ha!) it was small. In fact, I was pissed that my MIL invited so many people. The flowers weren’t right on the cake. Fine! No biggie. My music came out of the back of a pimped out Chevy Tracker (Again, divorced…).
I hate poetry unless it’s something harsh and bitter. Go figure. Then I feel the passion that the author wanted me to feel.
Red roses are cliche. Chocolates are unimaginative.
And I hate Valentines Day with every fiber of my being. Real love shouldn’t need a special day to be arbitrarily celebrated with every other nincompoop. You should take that time regularly because you care for one another, no once a year because you have to.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally a day when women are secretly hoping for an impromptu trip to Paris, a night at the opera, a diamond necklace. She wants to be winded and dined and then have the most perfect night of passionate lovemaking. After he rubs her feet, of course.
The men know it’s a day they can get laid if they play their cards right. He buys roses for the girl and forgets that she’s allergic. He gives her chocolate, but they aren’t the creamy truffles she likes, but instead the nougat that gets stuck in her teeth. He doesn’t realize that he had to make reservations so they have their romantic dinner at Denny’s.
In the end, the woman is disappointed, again, that year because she didn’t get the night that she was hoping for and, on top of that, feels guilty about the effort that her guy actually did put into the night so she feels obligated to put out.
After the foot massage, of course.
