How do i set up email on my samsung genio touch?
Whatever i do , i cant set up email on my phone. It asks me for stuff that i have no idea about! to be honest i only want to upload photos from my phone onto facebook, i have my personalised email from facebook which i need to do this but i cant set it up from my phones side. Please help! im on o2 and i cant find anything on the web.
depends exactly what information is being asked for, and who your email account is with.
if its gmail or hotmail, it should be pretty easy. first (with gmail, not sure about hotmail), you need to enable remote downloading, such as IMAP access (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=75725).
on your phone, it might ask you for the incoming mail (or IMAP or POP) server, in which case its imap.gmail.com for gmail, and this might be of help for hotmail (though it suggests only POP is available, which is not so good) http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_set_up_IMAP_for_hotmail
it will probably ask you for the outgoing (SMTP) server, in which case its smtp.gmail.com for gmail, and smtp.live.com for hotmail.
you might have to put your gmail/hotmail username and password
if you’re not with gmail or hotmail, you will probably need to find out from whoever the account is with the IMAP and SMTP settings. you shouldn’t need much else.
