Silver Scrollwork
How can I fix my sterling silver ring myself?
It is no longer round. Must have gotten crushed by something. I can still wear it but would prefer to have it completely round. Would it be possible to heat it up in the oven and try to get it over a wooden dowel of the right diameter? I don’t think I can use a hammer because it is somewhat delicate similar to scrollwork.
Sure would appreciate some advice on the best way to do it myself. TIA!
I would think that just getting it around the dowel without heating or pounding would restore the shape. Just start with a dowel that’s slightly smaller than the ring and build it up with duct tape til it’s the size you want, then slip the ring on.
