Tulle Net
Need advice about making a princess ball gown. PLEASE HELP!?
I have a leotard, petticoat, tulle, organza, net, lace, sequin and rhinestones.
okay, i’m assuming you know how to sew….
start with the top, decorate your leotard with the sequins and rhinestones, make a really cute design, like a crown or something princess-y.
for the skirt, there are a number of things you can do, i like a long skirt with a bustle at the back.
to make this you need a piece of fabric that goes from your hips or waist, depending on where you want the skirt to go up to, to the floor, this will be the length of your skirt. it has to be about double the width of your waist. sew two sides together lengthways so that you have a tube.
make a pocket of the elastic, making sure you leave a gap to thread it through and then put the elastic in. the elastic needs to fit comfortablt around your waist or hips.
thats the base of your skirt made.
to make the bustle you can use the tulle and the organza. they need to be long pieces, again about floor length. sew them together along the top and make another elastic pocket. instead of elastic, thread a piece of ribbon through. you should have a long cape by now.
for the next step, you pay need a friend to help.
tie the ribbon around your friends waist, bunching the fabric to the back. take the center end and pin it to the top on the ribbon. . then pin up other bits of the end as well. hand sew them in place. (that was pretty vaugue, sorry, you might want to look up bustles on the internet to help you)
now put on the skirt that you made and tie the bustle over the to.
voila, your very own princess skirt
you can then sew lace around the hem and make it super pretty
