Civil Weddings in Gibraltar
Civil Weddings Paperwork
For weddings in Gibraltar you need your:
- Birth Certificates
- Passports
- Divorced/death certificates (if applicable)
- Certificates of no Impediment of Marriage
The name on the Birth Certificate must match the number on the passport exactly. If for any
reason it is different then you need paperwork to prove the change of name e.g. original marriage
certificate, adoption certificate, deed poll certificate.
All paperwork needs to be taken to the registry office no more than 3 months before the wedding
and up to the day before the wedding. If you go the day before the wedding you must get to the
registry office before 10:00am.
Registry Office Weddings
Weddings take place in the registry office, or alternatively at various venues around Gibraltar.
For services at the registry office the cost is around £130 sterling and need to be paid in cash.
For services outside the registry office there is an additional charge of £100 plus the taxi fare
for the registrar. Weddings take place in the registry office between 10am and 12noon Monday to
Friday and at 12noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday outside the registry office.
There are now weddings available outside the registry office at 10am.
