¿Cómo me deshago de pelo muy rizado?

He visto muchas de estas preguntas, pero ninguno de ellos parecía encajar mi historia .. En mi familia, de pelo rizado es natural (a mi lado madres) .. Mi lado de los papás de la familia es, naturalmente, recta .. Así que mi pelo era entre ondulado y rizado .. pero cuando tenía 4 o 5 años de edad. Yo estaba mirando una vela y mi cabello atrapado en el fuego .. Desde entonces, mi pelo ha sido muy rizado .. Apenas enderezar el pelo .. Al igual que una cada 3 meses .. Jaja .. Y siempre tengo mi cabello porque es muy rizado .. Sólo me gusta mi pelo cuando es recta, pero sé que enderezar que lo hace peor, así que no quiero hacer eso .. ¿Me pueden ayudar?? Mydad dice que es muy rizado, probablemente porque yo podría haber quemar el cuero cabelludo ..?
