Wedding Candle Lanterns
Outdoor, night-time wedding lighting? Any suggestions?
We are planning on a night-time ceremony, outside in my future in law’s backyard. We would like to use as much candlelight as possible. Any suggestions for how to do the candle light and other soft lighting for the ceremony? I’d like to hang some from the trees, and have some on the ground. Planning on using mainly flameless candles but possible real candles for the actual “alter”.
P.S. the bridesmaids will be carrying Morrocan (spelling I know) lanterns, http://reigninggifts.com/LanternLighting.htm, instead of flowers. We’re going for a romantic feel, our colors are burgundy, chocolate brown and a soft pink… I appreciate everyone’s help.

Denise- we thought about having everyone hold candles after the ceremony instead of throwing birdseed or rose petals. We decided on sparklers for a more fun effect to kick off our reception. Plus we knew the younger people would love it.
Our wedding was outdoors in June in a garden. There were over 1000 candles lit throughout the garden and it looked beautiful! There were staked candle holders, candle chandeliers and lanterns hanging from the trees, fireplace screens (those ones that use candles), etc. I had two votives on a mirror as my centerpiece to create a nice ambiance. The tents we had up (in case of rain) had white christmas-like lights strung around the edge. Let me just say it was the most beautiful and romantic evening I could have ever expected! 
What about everyone holding candles in the crowd (similar to a candle-light vigil)?
