What personal and unique touches did you include in your wedding?
Whether your wedding is coming up soon or was 40 years ago (in which case, congrats to you!) please share any cool ideas you included to make your wedding personal and meaningful. The wedding ceremony, the party favors, the decorations, the attire, the invites, the reception… What was your favorite special touch?
While I myself haven’t been married, one thing we did for my sister’s wedding (my idea) was to give out something homemade, that was easy to do. We made little baggies of homegrown coriander seeds, which was a big hit because its a great spice to cook with. Also, we collected natural reeds from the side of the road (the long grasses with silver and red tops and also cattails) to decorate the tent. Best of all, rather than have everyone eat a catored meal, we made a menu and put various willing guests to help the day before the wedding and the morning of. It made for a very tight nit day, filled with love and goodwill. Everyone was helping out, and everyone was a relatively close family friend. The other thing i liked was my friend and i gave my sister a massage, foot scrub, painted her nails and with her friends did her hair and make-up, so it was entirely from the heart and no strangers were involved in making her look beautiful. I think she really loved this part.
