What exactly does a grooms stationary for a wedding include? I have no clue what it actually is.?

Groom’s stationary went out during WW2. Used only by the very wealthy and typically only had the grooms monogram on it. I remember reading about it when visiting an old mansion built by a rich railroad baron in the 1910s. I’m sure it’s purpose was for invitations, thank yous – basically anything involving the wedding.
There are a few places that offer it online, but it seems to me that it is directed towards male gay couples. Otherwise, it’s just an unnecessary affectation.
