White Lace Wedding
Is it inappropriate to wear white to a wedding?
Im sixteen and my brothers wedding is coming up. We live in Hawaii and it will be an outdoor wedding. I have an above the knee ivory lace dress that is pretty modest, would I be offending anybody if I wore it?
If it’s all white, it should be avoided. Especially as the bride might wear a knee length dress as it’s an outdoors ceremony. But don’t be bullied in to feeling you can’t wear any white at all in your outfit – unless the bride herself says she doesn’t like it. I think it’s very natural to wear white in the summer time, especially outdoors, just make sure it’s teamed with another colour and obviously not like a bridal gown. I am seeing more and more white being worn to weddings so I think times are changing. As long as there’s clearly no disrespect to the bride or trying to steal her thunder, I really think we need to stop being so precious about this.
